Call for Volunteers

The Australian Association of Environmental Education (AAEE) Conference Committee is calling for volunteers to assist and participate in their Biennial Conference in Mandurah in 2021.

Every two years, AAEE convenes a conference in a different Australian state, celebrating and promoting environmental education research, practice and innovation. The 2021 program features a Research Symposium, a professional learning day, inspiring and challenging keynote speakers, peer to peer roundtables, workshops and optional field trips.

This is a unique opportunity to join the team of 12 committee members, making a contribution to people and planet and meeting like-minded people, sponsors and the leading experts in environmental education.

Volunteers commit to a total of 20 hours of volunteering (5 hours X 4 days, working either a morning or afternoon shift on SMTW or MTWT), agree to uphold venue workplace health and safety standards, speak fluent English and undertake an onsite orientation and training session on the Sunday prior to the conference.

Volunteeer roles include:

  • greeter/host for conference venues
  • directional assistance at the Conference venues
  • session room/speaker/presenter podium assistant
  • registration desk representative for AAEE
  • exhibit area and poster session representative
  • field trip chaperone
  • photographer and social media activator.

Please note that some volunteers may multi task and fill dual roles at different times in their shift.

Volunteer benefits include a discounted Conference registration at $300.00, daily morning and afternoon tea and lunches, tickets to the Welcome Event on Sunday evening and a Certificate of Participation after completion of 20 hours of volunteering.
