Wollongong

2023 Host City

The city of Wollongong is located just over an hour’s drive south of Sydney, and is a place that represents the nexus of over 20,000 years of Dharawal life and dreaming, colonisation and a post-industrial shared future. It invites opportunities for connections with the land, sea, mountains and sky.

The city’s welcoming, diverse community makes Wollongong a great place to live, work and visit. Wollongong is home to a world-class university, innovative start-up scene, and offers all the benefits of city living, but with the warmth of a smaller town.

Significantly, our conference will play out at the University of Wollongong campus, which is nestled under the learning mountain, ‘Geera’ (Mt Keira), in Dharawal country. This provides a powerful conference backdrop, bringing people from across Australia to sit under ‘Geera’ and listen, learn and transform our practices for a more hopeful, connected and sustainable future.
